2Marketing designs law firm websites that turn visitors into consultations: a clear page for every practice area, lawyer bios that build trust, intake forms that work on phones and SEO from the first day. In Ontario, law firm websites range from $3,000 to $5,000 for basic templates to $15,000 to $35,000 or more for custom builds. Our WordPress law firm websites start at $999, custom builds start at $3,500, and your firm owns everything.
A potential client usually visits two or three firm websites before calling one. They're scanning for three things: signs you handle their exact problem, evidence you've done it many times, and a simple way to get in touch. Most law firm web design misses all three, and generic web design for lawyers often makes it worse. A generic homepage, stock photos of gavels and scales, and a contact form buried at the bottom of the page send people back to Google. Your website is also where most of your SEO happens. A beautiful site with a weak structure won't rank, and a site that ranks but doesn't convert wastes every visit.
Attorney web design, whether for a solo practice or a large firm, carries more weight than most business sites. Choosing a law firm web design agency that understands legal marketing makes the difference. Legal websites carry more weight than most business sites. Visitors are often stressed, the decision is expensive, and the rules on what you can say are stricter. That changes the design brief: calmer layouts, plain language instead of legal jargon, clear pricing information where possible, and trust signals placed where people look for them. It also means every page needs a lawyer's approval before it goes live, which we build into the timeline rather than treating as an afterthought.
| Legal website template | Custom law firm website | |
|---|---|---|
| 01Typical cost in Ontario | $3,000 to $5,000 | $15,000 to $35,000+ at most agencies; from $3,500 with 2Marketing |
| 02Practice area pages | A few generic pages | One detailed page per practice area and case type |
| 03Speed and mobile | Often heavy | Built lean and tested on phones |
| 04Intake | Generic contact form | Short intake form and click-to-call on every page |
| 05SEO | Basic | Structure, schema and local pages built in |
| 06Compliance | Your responsibility | Written with Law Society and bar rules in mind |
A template can work for a new solo practice on a tight budget. Because our WordPress builds start at $999, most firms can have a site designed around their practice areas for less than a typical template package.
To start, we'll ask for your practice areas in order of priority, lawyer photos and bios, bar admissions and memberships, any case results your Law Society or state bar allows you to publish, and access to your domain and current hosting. If you use intake or case management software, we'll also need details so forms can connect to it. Anything you don't have yet, such as professional headshots, we can help you arrange.
Law firm websites need regular care. WordPress and plugins release updates that should be tested before they reach a live site, practice area pages need updating when laws change, and new lawyers need bios. We offer ongoing support, and many firms pair the new site with monthly law firm SEO so it keeps gaining visibility. You'll also have full access and training to manage the site yourself.
| Package | Best for | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01Landing page | A single practice area campaign or Google Ads | One high-converting page built for consultations | $350 |
| 02WordPress | Solo lawyers and most small to mid-size firms | A business website your team can edit, with practice area pages, bios and intake | From $999 |
| 03Custom website | Multi-office firms and firms needing client portals or integrations | Custom-coded builds, client portals and intake integrations | From $3,500 (consultation) |
The final price depends on the number of practice areas and pages, whether we write the content, and any integrations with your intake or case management software. You get a fixed quote before work starts. Hosting, security updates and maintenance plans are available after launch. See our general web design in Toronto page for how we work.

Most take six to ten weeks, depending on the number of practice areas and how quickly your lawyers review content. Content approval is usually the longest step, so we plan for it from the start.
Not if the migration is planned. We map every existing URL, keep content that ranks, set up redirects and monitor rankings for weeks after launch. Most traffic losses after a redesign come from missed redirects, which are preventable.
Often yes, but it depends on your Law Society or state bar. We add the required disclaimers and have your firm approve every result and review we display.
Yes. Clients search for specific problems, and Google ranks specific pages. A single "practice areas" page can't rank for divorce, custody and support at the same time.
Your firm. The site, domain, content and hosting account are in your name, and you receive all access details at launch.
