Real Estate Website Design That Wins Buyers and Sellers
Written by Dr. Salman Sabir, PT. Updated September 2026.
2Marketing designs real estate websites for agents, teams and brokerages that capture buyer and seller leads, show listings through IDX and rank for the neighbourhoods you sell in. WordPress real estate websites start at $999, landing pages for campaigns are $350, and custom builds with advanced search or portals start at $3,500.
Most agent websites look the same: a hero photo of a skyline, a listing search, and a contact page. They don't give buyers a reason to stay or sellers a reason to call. Buyers can see listings anywhere. What they can't get elsewhere is your knowledge of the neighbourhood. We design sites around that knowledge: neighbourhood guides, seller tools and market updates, with listings supporting them instead of replacing them. Whether you need a realtor website design for a solo agent, a real estate agent website for a small team, or a brokerage website with dozens of agents, IDX listings should support your local expertise rather than replace it. An IDX website on its own looks like every other agent's.
What makes a real estate website convert
Real estate sites convert when every visit has a reason to leave contact details. For buyers, that might be saved searches, new listing alerts or a neighbourhood guide. For sellers, it's a home valuation request or a pre-listing checklist. Generic "contact us" forms convert poorly because they ask for commitment without offering anything back. We design a clear path for each type of visitor, with lead capture that feels useful rather than pushy, and we connect every form to your CRM so no lead sits unanswered in an inbox.
How buyers and sellers choose an agent online
Buyers usually find agents through listings, then stay because of local knowledge. Sellers work the other way: they research quietly for months, reading market updates and valuation pages, and then call the agent who seemed to understand their neighbourhood best. Both groups check reviews and recent sales. An agent website that shows real neighbourhood expertise and recent activity earns trust long before the first call.
Pages every real estate website should have
- Homepage. Who you are, where you sell and how you help buyers and sellers
- Neighbourhood guides. One per area you want to be known for
- Home valuation. A simple request form for sellers
- Buyer and seller guides. Step-by-step guides for each side of the transaction
- Listings. IDX search and featured listings
- About and reviews. Your story, credentials and client reviews
Features and integrations
We integrate IDX or listing feeds from your board, including CREA's DDF in Canada where you're eligible, connect your CRM so leads go straight to your follow-up system, and add market update sections you can edit yourself.
Advertising rules for real estate websites
In Ontario, RECO requires your brokerage to be clearly identified in advertising, and CREA's REALTOR and MLS trademarks have their own usage rules. We design your site to meet those requirements.
Real estate website design pricing
Our real estate websites cost far less than many agent-website platforms charge over a couple of years, and you own the site outright.
| Package | Best for | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01WordPress | Individual agents and most teams | A business website your team can edit | From $999 |
| 02Landing page | Listing launches, open houses and ad campaigns | One high-converting page for ads, launches or events | $350 |
| 03Custom website | Brokerages needing custom search, agent portals or complex integrations | Custom-coded builds, web apps and portals | From $3,500 (consultation) |
The final price depends on the number of pages, whether we write the content, and the integrations you need. You get a fixed quote and a written timeline before any work starts, and you own the finished site, domain and content.
Everything included at launch
Every real estate website we build launches with the essentials done properly, so you're not paying extra later for things that should have been there from the start.

|---|---|
| 01Design | Custom design for desktop and phone, built around your brand and your buyers and sellers |
| 02Speed | Optimized images and lean code, tested against Google's Core Web Vitals |
| 03SEO setup | Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, XML sitemap and redirects from any old site |
| 04Structured data | RealEstateAgent and LocalBusiness markup, so search engines and AI assistants understand your business |
| 05Tracking | Google Analytics 4 with conversion tracking for valuation requests, showing requests and calls |
| 06Accessibility | Built toward WCAG 2.0 Level AA |
| 07Security | SSL certificate, security hardening and automated backups |
| 08Training | A walkthrough so your team can update pages, photos and details |
How long a real estate website takes
Timelines depend mostly on how quickly content and photos are ready and approved. Typical ranges for real estate projects:
| Package | Typical timeline |
|---|---|
| 01WordPress | 3 to 6 weeks |
| 02Landing page | about 1 week |
| 03Custom website | 8 to 12 weeks or more, depending on scope |
The biggest cause of delay on any website is waiting for content. Sending photos early and approving pages quickly can take weeks off the schedule.
What we'll need from you
To start, we'll ask for a few things. Anything you don't have yet, we can help you prepare.
- Areas you serve. The neighbourhoods, buildings and cities you want to be known for
- Brand and brokerage details. Logo, colours, brokerage name and licensing details
- Photos and video. Professional headshots, neighbourhood photos and any video tours
- Listing feed access. Your board or IDX provider details and your CRM login
- Access details. Your domain registrar, current hosting and any Google accounts, so nothing is lost when the new site goes live.
After launch
A website needs care after it goes live. WordPress, plugins and themes release updates regularly, and each one should be tested before it reaches a live site. Content also goes out of date as your listings, market data and neighbourhood content change. We offer ongoing support and maintenance, and many real estate clients pair their new site with monthly SEO so it keeps gaining visibility. You can also run the site yourself: you'll have full access and training either way.
Accessibility and Ontario's AODA
Ontario's accessibility law requires organizations with 50 or more employees to make public websites meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA. Even smaller real estate businesses benefit from following it: clear text, good contrast and forms that work with screen readers also make a site easier to use on a phone in bright sunlight, and they widen the audience you can reach.

Real estate website design FAQ
How much does a real estate website cost?
With 2Marketing, WordPress real estate websites start at $999, campaign landing pages are $350, and custom builds with advanced search or agent portals start at $3,500. IDX feed fees from your board or provider are separate. You get a fixed quote before work starts.
Can you add IDX listings to my website?
Yes. We integrate listing feeds from your board or an IDX provider and set them up so listings help visitors without creating thousands of duplicate pages that hurt your SEO.
Do I own the website, or is it a subscription?
You own it. Unlike many agent website platforms that charge monthly and keep the site if you leave, we build on WordPress in your name.
Can you build a site for a whole brokerage?
Yes. Brokerage sites include agent profiles, office pages and shared lead routing, usually as a custom build starting at $3,500.
Can the site send new listing alerts?
Yes. Most IDX providers support saved searches and alerts, which we set up so buyers register with you instead of a portal.
Can I write my own market updates?
Yes. We set up a simple section so you can publish monthly updates from your phone or computer.
Who owns the website when it's finished?
You do. The site, domain, content and hosting account are in your name, and you receive all access details at launch. If you ever change providers, everything goes with you.
